Early Morning

Walking the fields early in the morning, I just love the ever changing array of vegetables and flowers.

Fava Beans, or for my Dutch readers Tuinbonen. Can't wait........

Updates on knitting projects coming soon!

Gloomy day

After a few nice and sunny days, the weekend decided to be a bit more gloomy. Saturday was not that bad, a bit windy but sunny. The clouds came in over the ocean in the evening, I love how they just slowly roll over the hills and cover the hills. In the summer it is our natural airco.
It did stay dry today, but is was a lot colder and sure no weather to sit on the porch with my work. Unless you want to be blown away by the wind.

I think I might have a new hobby, making pastries out of wool felt. They even look tasty! DS came in the room and asked for me to please stop making them because they made him hungry.

I did manage to bring my camera in our early morning walk in the fields. With a glance at the Egrets that reside in the lake behind the house, walking closer would mean balancing on the wet ground and sure enough I left the house on my slippers I use to go inside and outside the house quickly.

Jeremy was on the hunt this morning, or it just is true that the grass is greener on the other side (He is in the field next to us)

Birds

We spend the morning outside sipping our coffee, with camera in hand I tried to capture some of the birds that are in the back yard. Maybe camouflage or coating myself in bird food is a better idea, the blue jays that are in the trees in front of our living room window did not make an appearance and they are so much fun to watch. But we did manage to spot some other birds.

Oh, and of course a ground squirrel or two.

This one looks like it is posing for me.

Spring is in the air

Spring is in the air, there is no doubt about that around here. Almost everything is starting to bloom or is getting buds. Paco frolics in the pasture and gives away his best "I-can-jump-like-a-rabbit" impression.

I just love all the blossoms, it gives everything such a happy look. Work is as usual crazy, but it seems that every year because of the state budget cuts we get more work because they are cutting jobs and less money. The amount of work I have to cram into a workday......
DS is waiting for his acceptance letter to the Early College Academy. If accepted he can do High School and College in one. Me for one can hardly believe that I will be the parent of a High School student.

Paco and Tess can't believe it either!

The Ringo mittens for a co-workers little son are finished. The only thing I regret is the color, the blue is not standing out to much from the brown which makes it hard to see that it even is a raccoon.
On the other hand that gives me an excuse to knit another pair.
